"April" Still Life, Giclée Print

I was inspired to create a series comprising 12 paintings, each dedicated to a specific month of the year, making use of subjects and colours that I associate with each month.

The wildflowers take centre stage in this composition, and I meticulously captured their wild and untamed allure. The rustic vase displays the marks of time's passage, serving as the perfect vessel. Against a serene blue background, the wildflowers appear to sway and sing in harmonious unity. The blue backdrop conjures images of an open sky, suggesting a feeling of boundless freedom, as if the wildflowers have been plucked from a sunlit meadow and brought inside. In this still life, it was my intention to celebrate the profound beauty hidden within nature's most unpretentious creations. I invite the viewer to immerse themselves in the delicate world of wildflowers and experience the timeless charm of a fleeting moment in the wild. The painting encapsulates the essence of life's transient beauty, encouraging us to cherish the intricacies of the natural world.
