"July" Landscape Giclée Print

I was inspired to create a series of 12 landscapes, one for each month of the year and to make use of subjects and colours that I associate with every month. Each work was completed en plein air, in one sitting. 

I completed "July" on a perfect sunny day in Staithes, a delightful village and one of my favourite places to visit. The blue of the sky and the blue of the sea were like two shades of tranquillity merging seamlessly on that day. The sky overhead was a brilliant, clear blue. It stretched out endlessly, giving a sense of vastness and freedom.
