"July" Still Life, Giclée Print

I was inspired to create a series comprising 12 paintings, each dedicated to a specific month of the year, making use of subjects and colours that I associate with each month.

"July" was inspired by a beautiful bouquet created by a lady in my home country. Her name is Laura Baban. My wife saw a picture of it on social media and fell in love with it. I chose to capture it on canvas as I thought it fitted perfectly with the month of July. I believe the artwork perfectly encapsulate the vibrant and exuberant spirit of the month of July. Each bloom exudes a sense of vitality that we can find in nature during the peak of summer. The small brown vase, rustic and unassuming, adds a touch of earthiness to the scene. It acts as the perfect vessel for the wild and untamed windflowers, grounding them in a simple arrangement. The background bathes the composition in a cheerful, golden glow, emphasizing the sense of vitality and joy that this summer month brings. It is my hope that the artwork captures the essence of warm summer days, outdoor gatherings, and the vibrant beauty of nature in full bloom and serves as a reminder to appreciate the vivacity of this month and the enchanting charm that can be found in the everyday, during the height of summer.
