"November" Still Life, Giclée Print

I was inspired to create a series comprising 12 paintings, each dedicated to a specific month of the year, making use of subjects and colours that I associate with each month.

This piece is the last that I've created for the project, as I started with December. The work continues the "books" theme that I chose for October. I intended to create an indoor scene and at the time I was reading "A song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin, the ones which inspired the popular drama series "Game of Thrones". I also knew I wanted to use gold among other colours of autumn and this table setting was such a perfect subject for the month! It was the first time I had used gold and silver colours in a painting and I very much enjoy the result. At the heart of the table sits a golden cup, a vessel of elegance that beckons to be filled with the finest drinks. Its gleaming surface catches and reflects the ambient light, adding a touch of luxury to the royal feast. Nearby, a silver candle holder stands tall, its flickering flame casting a warm and intimate glow upon the surroundings. Meat, grains, fruits, and nuts are presented, symbolizing the abundance of the season.
