"November" Landscape, Giclée Print

I was inspired to create a series of 12 landscapes, one for each month of the year and to make use of subjects and colours that I associate with every month. Each work was completed en plein air, in one sitting. 

As part of this project, I was led to the charming St James Church, located in a small village in the North of England. I grew up in a Catholic family and I was encouraged on this path as a child but I haven’t made it my own until now, later in life, when I am reconnecting with my faith and I am learning to appreciate my Christian heritage.

As the years pass, I am increasingly drawn to the profound path carved by Jesus, recognizing it as a guiding force for a meaningful life. I find inspiration in churches, ranging from the humble simplicity of small village ones to the awe-inspiring grandeur of larger cathedrals. I find in them a source of solace and beauty, not necessarily through their physical architecture but more so the spiritual essence within. Through the profound beauty and contemplative atmosphere found within these churches, I find myself fostering a deeper appreciation for the spiritual journey that unfolds within us all.

I painted the landscape in the style of Vincent Van Gogh, one of my favourite artists and infused the scene with a sense of dynamism and emotion through the bold use of colour and expressive brushwork.
